Oxford Airport Raises Bizav ‘Green Hub’ Profile, as it Ponders eVTOL London Links

We attended London Oxford Airport’s (EGTK) Media Day on May 2nd, 2024. Those clever fellows at Oxford also own London’s only full-time licensed heliport, at Battersea. This, combined with eVTOL craft such as the Lilium Jet, could soon make the link between the two quieter and more affordable than helicopters, and possibly faster and more regular. “The regulators will never have it,” you may say. OK, agreed. But if they did, Oxford would – in effect – move closer to London.

New Development Program at London Oxford Airport

As part of a new strategic plan, London Oxford Airport has commenced construction work on a new development phase, which will, when complete this autumn, be its most significant step forward to date. Central to the work is a 63,000 sq. ft. (6,000m2) 140m long hangar with two bays including rear offices, stores and workshops, capable of accommodating up to six Bombardier Global, Gulfstream or Dassault Falcon Jet models, simultaneously. The new hangar, the airport’s fifteenth, is the first facility in a new zone of the airport to the north of the original site.
