NBAA Urges Quick Action to Preserve Accelerated Depreciation

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has joined a number of other organizations in strongly urging Congressional leaders to continue stimulating capital expenditures among businesses, big and small, by extending their ability to speed up depreciation schedules for a wide variety of major capital investments. That process, known as accelerated, or “bonus” depreciation, is set to expire at the end of this year.

Flexjet Receives FAA Authorization For iPads as Paperless Cockpit Solution

The company said phase 5 authorization comes after six months of validation testing of the device across Flexjet's fleet of aircraft and acceptance of its standard operating procedures. The company's complete transition from paper to electronic navigational charts is planned for January 2013.

A Berkshire Hathaway company, NetJets Inc., launched a fixed-base operator (FBO) facility at Atlanta's DeKalb-Peachtree Airport (PDK). The private business jet charter and aircraft management company based in Columbus, Ohio, has signed a long-term lease with Atlantic Aviation for the 2,800-square-foot facility.
