Streamline OPS Offers Flight Arrangements for SPIEF

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) will be held on May 22-24 despite the fact that some US-based companies reported their inability to attend. A good number of incoming flights is expected and the airport authorities have confirmed readiness for the event.

All the traffic is expected to be served at the Pulkovo-1 newly finished terminal, which became fully operational in December of 2013. The total area of the terminal exceeds 110,000 square meters and it has a maximum capacity of 17 million passengers per year. Business aviation passengers will be served by the two business aviation terminals, opened a year ago and now fully operational.

ULLI NOTAM A1157/14 introduces limitations for non-regular flights, not connected with SPIEF events and describes procedures of the issuing of permissions for flights to this airport May 20-24. Existing ATC and runway capacity will allow SPIEF participants around 10 flights per hour, thus it is imperative to comply with the allocated slots. As the airport ramp will not be able to accommodate all the traffic, wishing to overnight, it is recommended to schedule short turnarounds at this airport and ferry the aircraft to another destination for parking. Permission for extended parking will be issued on exceptional basis by special commission with participation of SPIEF organizers and Pulkovo Airport officials. On May 24, departures will be scheduled not earlier than 4 hours after the closing ceremony in strict accordance with confirmed slots.
