Air Service Basel Supports Traffic For Art Basel 2017

Air Service Basel looks forward to welcoming traffic with premier general aviation services to kick off the highly-anticipated 2017 Art Basel exhibition, June 15 – 18 at the Messe Basel, just a 10-minute drive from the FBO.

The annual art show dates back to 1970 with 90 galleries and 30 publishers. Today’s art show features modern and contemporary works—paintings, drawings, sculptures, installations, prints, photography, video and digital art—in 291 of the world’s leading galleries from more than 4,000 artists, ranging from modern masters to emerging starts on the art scene.

In addition to the artwork, Art Basel includes a full program of inspirational talks, exhibitions and events offered by Basel’s cultural institutions.

As the international art fair continues to grow, so do the needs of the general aviation community closest to the event. Last year, Air Service Basel served 380 aircraft flying in over the course of the week. This year, the team expects to serve more than 750 customers.

“It’s an exciting week of festivities where people come from all over the world to experience the best in modern and contemporary art, and the best in private aviation services at Air Service Basel,” said Sandrine Schmidlin, Air Service Basel’s FBO manager. “Our team looks forward to the event each year—we’re always thinking about how we can best serve our customers, and this is our opportunity to help guests have a phenomenal week from touchdown to takeoff.”
