Banyan Technicians Celebrate AMT Day

Banyan Air Service technicians took time to enjoy a catered lunch in recognition of AMT Day. Banyan president Don Campion recognized a number of technicians for their longevity to Banyan. In avionics: Steve Ouellette (16 years), Gus Gomez (12 years) and Paul Krug (9 years). In maintenance, Les Bowser (20 years), Terry Schuler (14 years), Murray Zacharia (12 years), Anthony Bessellieu (11 years), Gary Johnson (11 years), Curtis Florio (11 years) and Dave Valenta (10 years).

Customer Appreciation Event Held at Hangar63

Hangar63 (Banyan’s Aviation Store), located at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, recently held its third annual customer appreciation day. More than 600 customers and their families attended. In addition, Angel Flight was on hand as well as a static aircraft display by Hawker-Beechcraft, Premier Aircraft Sales and Jet Fighters International.

NBAA Regional Forum Draws Standing Room Crowd

NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen talks with Mike Wright, founding partner of Business Jet Center, after a No Plane No Gain update to a standing room only audience at the NBAA Regional Forum held April 7 in Dallas.A standing room only crowd gathered to hear NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen speak about the No Plane No Gain advocacy campaign at the NBAA Regional Forum in Dallas on April 7.

“We want to make sure policymakers and opinion leaders are well aware of the essential role business aviation plays for citizens, companies and communities across the country,” Bolen said.

During his presentation, Bolen showed the No Plane No Gain TV and newspaper ads.

The event, which was hosted by Business Jet Center at its Dallas Love Field location, drew more than 940 attendees and included 54 exhibitors with 24 aircraft on static display.

 

TCM President Rhett Ross to Speak March 12

Rhett Ross, President of Teledyne Continental Motors (TCM), will be the featured guest speaker at the regular bi–monthly meeting of the Atlanta Aero Club scheduled for March 12. Ross, who became president of TCM in the fall of 2007, has 21 years of mechanical and nuclear engineering management experience and was previously president of Teledyne Energy Systems. He has also served as an officer in the U.S. Navy’s Submarine Service with responsibility for Reactor Operations.
