Houma Jet Center Kicks Off Avfuel Alliance with 20 AVTRIP Bonus Points
/New Avfuel-branded fixed-base operator, Houma Jet Center of Houma-Terrebonne Airport (HUM), is keeping costs down for general aviation customers despite nationwide price hikes of jet fuel. Houma’s prices are among the very lowest in the region and for a limited time this premier FBO is awarding visiting pilots with 20 bonus AVTRIP points per gallon of fuel purchased. This promotion ends May 31, 2008.
“In just the last few weeks we have seen larger uplifts and increased business from pilots due to our starting to offer AVTRIP points,” chief pilot and manager, Lloyd Geist, said. He said the Houma employees found working with Avfuel programs such as AVTRIP and Avfuel Contract Fuel easy and enjoyable.
“Since we’ve made Avfuel our fuel supplier, everything has been easier on our end from the billing and accounting standpoint,” Geist said.
Situated on the Gulf of Mexico, Houma Jet Center’s location gives pilots unrivaled access to cross-gulf airways. Only 35 minutes by ground from New Orleans, the Houma-Terrebonne Airport saves visitors time with low air congestion, quick turns and easy in and out. With U.S. Customs Overflight Exemptions now available for HUM, aircraft bound to or from foreign soil can now avoid the passenger delays and airline traffic typical of New Orleans International Airport. Houma Jet Center will even handle the U.S. Customs Overflight Exemption paperwork for its customers at no charge. Houma makes the perfect fuel stop for flights headed to or from southern Florida and the Caribbean islands.
“We are the last airport before you head out over water,” Geist said.
At Houma Jet Center, fresh and warm cookies, popcorn and free beverages await passengers. A variety of catering, hotel and rental choices are available through the customer service representatives. Spacious and modern, Houma is well-equipped to aid in either the productivity or the relaxation of visitors.
Houma Jet Center will soon be breaking ground on a new 8,000-square-foot Executive Air Terminal. In the mean time, pilots report that the temporary facility is spacious, comfortable and contains all the latest amenities such as high definition televisions, wireless internet, a pilot snooze room and a conference room.
Serving as the largest FBO on the field, the Houma Jet Center line service will provide fuel, lav service, towing, cleaning and many other services. The hangar has 28,000 square feet available, and overnight hangaring is given to transient aircraft at no cost. Houma Jet Center has two runways of 6,500 feet and 5,000 feet and seven instrument approaches equipped with ILS and a control tower.
Every member of the Houma’s friendly and efficient line staff is trained and certified NATA Safety 1st – the only crew in the area with this designation. All equipment, including fuel trucks and crew cars, is brand new for maximum speed, efficiency and safety.
“If a potential customer is looking for a good place to land and refuel quickly, we’re the answer,” Geist said.
