MMTO Aircraft Customs Clearance Procedure
/Please review the following for arrival and departure customs information at MMTO.
AAA: International Arrivals for General Aviation:
Once the aircraft lands, it will be positioned at the customs clearing point, currently spots 1A and 1B at the general aviation platform.
Passengers will hand their customs declaration form to the authorities. When such declaration is presented for an entire family, it will just be necessary that the head of the family enters the customs checkpoint. The remaining individuals of the family can remain at the aircraft.
Customs personnel must expedite the revision of declarations and verify that all content is complete. If any part of the declaration is not properly filled out, it should be filled out again, while receiving proper assistance.
The passenger will then activate the automated selection device. If selection results in a Red Light, customs personnel will immediately proceed to check the passenger or main family member and to place all luggage on the revision table for it to be opened and checked while the passenger observes at all times. If no irregularities are detected, the passenger will receive all luggage and can proceed to the destination.
Crew luggage and belongings must go directly to the revision table without going through the selection device because crew members are not considered international passengers, though their suitcases are all subject to revision.
BBB: International Departures for General Aviation:
The crew must direct the aircraft to outbound revision at the customs clearing point, currently spots 1A and 1B at the general aviation platform.
Pax and Crew luggage must be checked and can be taken to the revision table before the aircraft is in position 1A or 1B in order to expedite clearance. However, luggage must remain at the customs area until the aircraft is in position.
Passengers can remain on board; it is not necessary for them to walk to the customs area. Once the revision has finished, the aircraft will not be allowed to go back to the hangars and should immediately proceed to takeoff.
