Jim Matthews Leaves Aviation Week; Penton's Business Aviation Group Welcomes Justin Marciniak
/Jim Matthews, senior director and executive editor, is leaving Aviation Week after 26 years of employment. Although he is officially stepping down from his current role, he still intends to freelance for Aviation Week from time to time. Matthews started in 1998 and indicates that he has written roughly 17,000 news items and features, traveled to 34 countries and participated in 43 aircraft demos.
“I’ve told acquaintances over the years that even though aviation is a worldwide business, in many ways it’s a small town spread out over a large area, and it’s those friendships and relationships that I think I’ll miss the most,” Matthews said.
Justin Marciniak will take a new role at Penton as a product manager in the Business Aviation group this month. He will be responsible for new product development and maintaining existing products for AC-U-KWIK, Air Charter Guide, Aircraft Bluebook and Business & Commercial Aviation magazine. Marciniak has been with Penton for 10 years. For the past three years, he worked as a manager in the magazine production group, but prior to that he was dedicated to the ACUKWIK and Air Charter Guide product lines and worked on book layout, website building and management and content management and development for the group’s enewsletters.
