L&L Aviation (KSNY) and Sidney Municipal Airport Win Prestigious Award

L&L Aviation started 2016 with a bang as the Sidney Airport Authority won Nebraska’s non-Part 139 Airport of the Year Award during a January 28 banquet held in conjunction with the 24th Annual Nebraska Aviation Symposium.

“We’re truly honored,” said Jon Leever, L&L Aviation co-owner. “L&L Aviation took over airport management and maintenance at Sidney Municipal Airport along with its FBO services in July of 2015. It’s been a very successful endeavor, but to be recognized for our achievements so soon—within half a year—is a huge testament to our dedicated team that is vested in the aviation community and our local community.”

The award comes shortly after the opening of its new terminal, out of which L&L Aviation operates. The 2500 square foot facility opened to the public on Oct. 17, 2015, at which time L&L Aviation held a ribbon cutting ceremony concurrent with the annual Western Nebraska Community College Fly-In Breakfast. Featuring a spacious public waiting area, a private pilot’s lounge and flight-planning area, the new terminal building gives the airport the necessary space to accommodate the level of traffic to which it has become accustomed.

The ceremony also marked L&L Aviation’s membership in the Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce. Since taking over the management and maintenance needs of the airport, L&L Aviation has worked hard to connect its local community to the aviation community through events, such as a high school career fair. With local support, KSNY is also known as Nebraska’s only A&P School, educating the future of aviation.

The successful growth of L&L Aviation along with Sidney Airport is due, in large part, to the open communication line between L&L Aviation and the Sidney Airport Authority. Together, with effective collaboration, customers have experienced service beyond compare at the newly-managed and upgraded airport field.

On the FBO side, L&L Aviation provides its customers with quality service, clean and dry fuel, maintenance and inspection of piston power aircraft, oxygen and nitrogen service, catering, and heated overnight hangar rental. With KSNY’s central location in the United States, and its new 6,600’ runway, it serves as the perfect place for a quick fuel stop. With short notice, L&L Aviation can provide turn times of 30 minutes or less, making it an excellent location for passengers to stretch their legs as staff get down to business.
