West Star Aviation Appoints New Sales Managers at Two Locations
/West Star Aviation announced James (Jim) Woodliff as its South Central Regional Sales Manager. The company also announced Scott McDonald as its East South Central Regional Sales Manager.
Woodliff started out as a Jet Engine Mechanic in 1984 for USAF where he oversaw the engine test cell operations on F100 , F16 and F15 aircraft. His previous experience within corporate aviation extends from working as a Crew Chief at Standard Aero and most recently as an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor at Richardson Aviation from 2014-August 2017. In his position at Richardson Aviation he oversaw a crew of 8 technicians and their day to day operations of the corporate flight department.
As an RSM for West Star Aviation, McDonald will be responsible for sales activities for West Star's Southern territory, including, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and western Tennessee.
Woodliff participated and completed factory sponsored training including run and taxi on Gulfstream, Falcon and Raytheon aircraft and factory systems training from Honeywell, Rockwell Collins and Pratt & Whitney, as well as airport ground ops and towing.

McDonald began his 26-year career in aviation with Epps Aviation in Atlanta, Georgia as an Airframe and Powerplant Technician, a roll he continued at Cessna Citation Service Center in Kansas. In 1997, McDonald moved to Gulfstream Aerospace where he worked a variety of roles within the organization; when he left the company in 2012, he was the Director of East Coast Sales.
His continued success led to Vice President and Director level positions in sales from 2012-2016 with various leading aviation companies including West Star Aviation and Guardian Jet. In his most recent position, McDonald was Managing Partner for Aviation Consulting Partners, LLC where he represented customers for new/pre-owned aircraft purchases.
