Virtual Auction Raises $275,000 for Corporate Angel Network Mission
/Corporate Angel Network (CAN) announced that the organization’s Fund an Angel Virtual Auction, which concluded on October 30, raised over $275,000 through sponsorships, auction items and donations. Due to the cancelation of the 2020 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), CAN chose to move its annual event online in an effort to still raise critical funds for its mission.
While COVID-19 has impacted CAN’s model, the organization has continued transporting cancer patients to treatment throughout the pandemic. CAN exhausts all resources and alternative options when looking for patient flight matches. The virtual auction is important to not only raise funds for patient resources, but to remind the industry that CAN is still operating and patients remain in critical need.
The auction featured a wide array of items, including flight training packages, a beachfront hotel stay, signed golf memorabilia, a trip to Jackson Hole and one-of-a-kind art pieces. “We can’t say thank you enough to those who contributed to the auction, as well as our hundreds of participating flight departments who support CAN’s mission year-round,” stated CAN Executive Director Gina Russo. “Your generous support is impacting the lives of cancer patients throughout the country."
The organization will resume its normal format for the 2021 Fund an Angel Cocktail Reception, scheduled for October 13 in Las Vegas, NV during NBAA-BACE.
CAN has flown over 63,0000 patients to treatment since its founding in 1981. Business jet travel makes it possible for patients, especially those in locations with minimal airline access, to travel to specialized treatment centers. To learn more, visit corpangelnetwork.org or call 914-328-1313.
