Freeman Jet Center Unveils Extensive Renovations at Acadiana Facility (KARA)

Freeman Jet Center is proud to announce the completion of significant renovations at its Acadiana facility (KARA), enhancing both functionality and passenger comfort. The revitalized FBO is now fully operational and ready to serve the aviation community with enhanced amenities and a warm, inviting atmosphere at Louisiana’s Acadiana Regional Airport.

“Our newly-renovated facility is a reflection of Freeman Jet Center’s dedication to delivering exceptional service and comfort to our guests,” said Scott Freeman, CEO of Freeman Holdings Group. “We are excited to welcome customers to our upgraded amenities and invite them to enjoy the vibrant local culture woven into every detail.”

As part of the renovation, Freeman Jet Center expanded its footprint by an additional 2,000 square feet, accommodating a modern and more spacious design. With the additional space, the facility’s interior has been fully reimagined, transitioning from a two-story layout to an open, single-story design that boasts soaring, 17-foot ceilings in the lobby.

Aesthetically, the interior celebrates local Acadiana culture with curated artwork that highlights landmarks such as Avery Island’s Tabasco production and historic images from the 1960s Naval base. A striking feature wall behind the front counter also displays a sectional map of KARA. The facility is further accentuated by elegant terrazzo flooring and quartz countertops.

To accommodate its guests with enhanced comfort, Freeman Jet Center added luxurious furnishings throughout the facility, including a dedicated theater room equipped with plush theater seating. The facility also features a conference room with full A/V and seating for 10, a separate pilot’s lounge and snooze room, and a flight planning area.

When arriving at the FBO, guests will notice Freeman Jet Center’s modernized exterior, featuring a new roof and metal façade. Outside, the FBO constructed a stylish canopy (porte-cochère) over a convenient drive-through and drop-off area, along with a canopy at the ramp-side entrance to improve passenger comfort for departures and arrivals alike. Freeman Jet Center also installed an automatic drive-through gate for secure ramp access, and a new parking lot with ample lighting to enhance safety and accessibility.

With no detail overlooked, the Jet-A-Way Café on site also underwent a vibrant transformation. The restaurant now serves fresh breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday, featuring signature po-boy sandwiches crafted with authentic Louisiana seafood, and weekly specials that highlight regional flavors and culinary creativity.

As a full-service FBO, Freeman Jet Center offers guests safety-first services, including DLA-approved aviation fuel and ground services, aircraft parking (ramp or tie-down), GPU/power cart services, computerized weather, Wi-Fi, and rental and courtesy cars. As an Avfuel-branded FBO, Freeman Jet Center offers customers lucrative rewards through AVTRIP, competitive prices on fuel with Avfuel Contract Fuel, and streamlined transactions with acceptance of the Avfuel Pro Card.
